Dear Neil,

Welcome to the first newsletter from the Travelodge Property Department. We will be updating you on our activity throughout the year, showing our latest exchanges and explaining who is funding and developing our expansion. With a requirement for at least another 500 locations there are plenty of opportunities for you to work with us across the UK and help us meet our expansion goals.

Kind regards,

Paul Harvey, Travelodge Managing Director for Development

Paul's beer of
the month

As well as being MD for Development at Travelodge I am also lucky enough to be on the CAMRA judging panel.

Although you may think it is time for a winter warmer, my beer of the month is Buxton Blonde.

A fairly recent addition to the UK brewing scene, Buxton's beers are readily available north of Nottingham, but harder to find in the South. I fortuitously came across the Buxton Blonde at the Craft Beer Company on Leather Lane (In my view one of the top three pubs in London) and it is an incredibly refreshing and tasty beer.

It is described as a “Continental Style Ale” and though it is brewed with lager malt, make no mistake this a proper real ale. The description from the brewery website is:

“A classic blonde, clear and crisp. Blonde is mashed with a blend of lager malt and wheat for a zesty, fruity character. Hopped with only continental European varieties, it’s full of flavour and character.”

That says it all. Enjoy!
